On May 3, the Women's Information Center (WIC) hosted young leaders from the city of Dushanbe, who are on a study visit in Georgia within the framework of the program  "Women's Political and Public Participation" program implemented by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

The meeting aimed to share the experience of the Georgian civil sector in the direction of gender equality – existing challenges and achieved results.

Within the framework of the study visit, WIC Director, Elene Rusetskaya spoke about such topics as working practices at local, regional, and international levels, legislative changes initiated by the WIC team, best practices, needs of women and girls living in rural areas, women's economic empowerment and others.

The final part of the meeting took place in a question-and-answer mode - the participants received answers to interesting and important questions for them and expressed their desire for future cooperation.

It is worth noting that the study tour continues. To gain diverse experiences and better see the full picture, the project participants, organized by the WIC, will visit the Gender Equality Council in Khashuri Municipality, and the Civil Equality Platform in the Bolnisi municipality, which is the NGO that works on empowering women and girls representatives of ethnic minorities living in rural areas.
